Observe the code listed below and share with other skiers and riders the responsibility for a great on the snow experience.

  1. Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.
  2. People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.
  3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above.
  4. Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.
  5. Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.
  6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
  7. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, and unload safely.

Know the code. It's your responsibility.

This is a partial list. Be safety conscious. Officially endorsed by: National Ski Areas Association.

Be Aware. Ski with Care.

All fencing, poles, signage and other marking devices are in place to inform you of potential hazards or obstacles. The markers will not protect you from injury, and it is your responsibility to stay away from marked areas. The use of helmets or wrist guards may reduce the risk of injury. Whether or not to wear a helmet or other safety devices is a personal choice. Make sure to check into all available options.

No Tolerance Policy

Anyone found with illegal substances, or minors found with alcohol on Trollhaugen property will be removed by police from the area and will not be allowed back for a minimum of the rest of that winter season.  Owners and staff at Trollhaugen does not accept this activity.

Alcohol is not allowed on the hills for anyone of any age.  Any legal aged adult (21+) will be warned, and any subsequent activity will result in their removal from the area.


SMART STYLE

Trollhaugen endorses the The National Ski Areas Association  "Smart Style" Terrain Park Safety initiative. A cooperative effort with the help of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) that emphasizes the proper use of terrain parks while delivering a unified message.

  1. MAKE A PLAN
    Every time you use freestyle terrain, make a plan for each feature you want to use. Your speed, approach and take off will directly affect your maneuver and landing
  2. LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP
    Scope around the jumps first, not over them. Know your landings are clear and clear yourself out of the landing area.
  3. EASY STYLE IT
    Start small and work your way up. (Inverted aerials not recommended)
  4. RESPECT GETS RESPECT
    From the lift line through the park.
